The James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building was dedicated in 1996. It is of glass and concrete construction, twelve stories high, and has a modern design. The federal courthouse is located in a complex in downtown Miami which contains the old and current federal courthouses and the federal prison, all connected with courtyards.
