The Okeechobee County Judicial Center was built in 2005 in a judicial complex that also includes the historic courthouse. Considerable care was taken to design the new courthouse with columns and a portico that match the historic courthouse. Both buildings share a city square that contains palms, live oaks, and other native species and are connected by promenade.
